The Jackrabbit Trail is a 1.3-mile segment of the larger Jackrabbit Trail network, a 35-mile cross-country ski and hiking corridor linking Lake Placid to the Keene Valley area. Originally developed in the 1980s and named after legendary Norwegian ski jumper Herman "Jackrabbit" Johannsen, the trail system cuts through forested terrain and connects several Adirondack communities. This short section offers a manageable introduction to the network, suitable for Nordic skiing in winter and walking or trail running in warmer months.
