China Jade

Main Street, Saranac Lake, across from where the Sears parking lot used to be. China Jade does what a small-town Chinese restaurant is supposed to do: pineapple chicken, beef and broccoli, sesame chicken, generous portions, fast turnaround on takeout orders. Dine-in seating is there if you want it, but most of the volume goes out the door in paper bags. Service is brisk and to the point. No reservations. Open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with Friday and Saturday running to 10:30 p.m. Closed Sunday and Monday, which is the detail to remember, because every other restaurant in town is closed on different days. For a working lunch or a takeout dinner back at the rental, this is the answer.
