Rock Garden Trail.

The 0.5-mile route climbs just 36 feet but earns its moderate rating from the ground itself: rocks, roots, and uneven footing that demand attention on every step. Figure 15 minutes if you pick your way carefully. It's technical terrain without the vertical, the kind of short trail that teaches beginners what mountain hiking feels like before they commit to a real climb on Hiccock Mountain.
