About Mirror Lake Boathouse.
Located directly in downtown Lake Placid, the public beach is situated on the southern end of Mirror Lake. This sandy stretch offers a pier and a convenient launch site for canoes and kayaks, providing easy access to the water.
Beyond water access, the public beach provides several amenities for visitors. These include a changing facility, tennis courts for active recreation, and a playground for children.
Throughout the year, the Mirror Lake Beach serves as a notable gathering spot. In July, it's an excellent location to view the Independence Day fireworks and marks the starting point for the Ironman Lake Placid triathlon, where athletes begin their 2.4-mile swim.
Mirror Lake, a 128-acre body of water, is encircled by mountains and a paved 2.7-mile perimeter that is popular for walking, jogging, and biking. The area around this downtown beach allows for a full day of swimming, fishing, paddling, and enjoying the scenic views.
