Goodnow Mountain Trail

This short climb to the summit of Goodnow Mountain packs a fire tower payoff into just over half a mile one-way, making it one of the most accessible tower hikes in the central Adirondacks. The trail gains roughly 1,000 feet through mixed forest before breaking out to the refurbished cab and panoramic views. Popular with families and first-time tower climbers, the trailhead sits off Route 28N near Newcomb.
