A prominent link in the Empire State Trail system, this nearly twenty-seven-and-a-half-kilometer section traces State Route 9 through the Champlain Valley between Keeseville and Plattsburgh. The route is reported to offer sweeping views westward toward the Adirondack peaks and eastward across the broad expanse of Lake Champlain, with pastoral farmland and rural Clinton County scenery unfolding along much of the corridor.
