Jakes Pond Road.

A 1.4-mile multi-use route near Sand Pond that works as well on horseback or skis as it does on foot. The road is wide, the grade forgiving, and the surface holds up across seasons. If you need a short outing that doesn't demand technical skill or half a day's commitment, this is the one. It won't give you a summit view, but it will get you outside without the drama.
