About Word of Life Camps.
Glendale Road in Pottersville, the Adirondack base of the Word of Life ministry, which has operated since 1947. The camp network spans multiple states (New York, Florida, California), but the New York campus is the original and the largest, on the eastern shore of Schroon Lake.
The programming is faith-based by design and explicit about it, not soft-pedaled. Sessions cover summer and winter calendars across age groups from elementary school through young adults. The activity list runs the standard ADK camp playbook (waterfront on Schroon Lake, sports, crafts, evening programs) layered with biblical teaching and worship as the through-line. Staff are trained and the safety posture is published.
Family camps and retreats are the second product line, opening the calendar to parents and kids together and to outside ministry groups using the campus during off-season weeks. The Pottersville address puts the campus 30 minutes south of Lake George and 90 minutes north of Albany, in the southern Adirondack corridor. Best for families inside the Word of Life ministry tradition and for groups looking for an Adirondack retreat campus with the faith-based programming framework in place.
