Wakonda Family Campground.

This cooperative campground is situated on 82 acres in Pottersville, New York, featuring frontage on a thirty-five-acre private lake, Lake Wakonda, and a half-mile stretch of the Schroon River, located one mile below the south end of Schroon Lake.

Established in 1990, the cooperative consists of 132 campsites and 16 cottages, with 148 shareholders who jointly own and operate the property. Each shareholder receives a proprietary lease, granting exclusive occupancy of their purchased cottage or campsite.

Amenities include two sandy beaches on Lake Wakonda, courts for tennis, pickleball, and basketball, a sand volleyball court, a softball field, and a playground. Guests can also enjoy a dog park, a group campfire area, and boating access along the Schroon River. The campground also features five personal care centers for campsites, a center lounge building with a camp store, sitting area, TV/video, and games, plus a recreation building with a stage and dance floor overlooking Lake Wakonda.
