About Brant Lake Camp.
Route 8 in Brant Lake, on the southern shore. Brant Lake Camp has been running since 1916 under the same family, which is unusual enough at this scale to be the headline. The camp takes boys ages 7 to 15 and divides them into three mini-camps by age (Junior 7 to 11, Intermediate 12 to 13, Senior 14 to 16), which keeps the social and athletic peer groups appropriate without making the whole camp feel huge.
The identity is the sports program: "Sports Done Right" is the camp's tagline and it backs up the claim with real coaching across team and individual disciplines plus the waterfront sports the lake makes possible. The mini-camp structure means staff know individual kids well rather than treating them as one class of 200.
Three and a half hours from New York City, which is the catchment area. The camp publishes specific support material for first-time camper families, which is worth requesting before signing. Open for summer sessions; check the website for current session lengths and tuition.
