About Lake George Steamboat Company.
Steel Pier in Lake George Village, at the head of the lake. The Lake George Steamboat Company has been running passenger boats on this lake since 1817, which makes it one of the oldest continuously operating commercial steamboat lines in the country. Two boats handle the schedule: the Mohican, which has run these waters for more than a century, and the Lac du Saint Sacrement (the Saint), the larger of the two.
Cruise options scale by use case. Daytime sightseeing trips do the classic narrated tour of the southern lake, the millionaires' row mansions and historic shoreline. Lunch cruises add a midday meal. Dinner cruises run later with full sit-down service. The 2026 Rails to Sails Adventure Package pairs a Saratoga & North Creek-style scenic train with a Steamboat cruise for a full-day combo.
Sightseeing tickets book online. Dining and special-event cruises require phoning the ticket office (extension 4) on weekdays 9 to 3. Paid parking lot across from the pier, gate opens at 7:30 a.m. Service animals only on board. Operates seasonally, spring into foliage season. Best for first-time Lake George visitors and travelers who'd rather see the lake from the water than from Canada Street.
