§ Field Notes
About Nick Stoner Inn Seafood & Steakhouse.
Nick Stoner Inn Seafood & Steakhouse is a lakeside dining room at **1810 NY-10** in Caroga Lake — the southern-Adirondack pick for a serious red-meat dinner without making the drive up to Lake George or Lake Placid.
The kitchen runs a **tight ten-item menu**, all made to order with **nothing pre-cooked**. The steakhouse side leans on **hand-cut, in-house steaks** grilled to order; the seafood side runs **shrimp scampi**, the **filet paired with a small lobster tail and scallops** that returning guests order by name, and the rotating fresh-catch program. Non-meat options run through the menu rather than being a side concession.
The bar pours **nineteen craft beers on tap**, a craft-spirit list, and **Finger Lakes wines** — unusually deep for a hamlet this size.
Hours: **Thursday 3 – 8 p.m., Friday & Saturday 12 – 8 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.** Closed Monday through Wednesday. The Sunday window makes it a natural Father's Day lunch destination for travelers coming up from the Albany / Saratoga side, or out from the Great Sacandaga corridor.
Reservations recommended for Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch. Phone: **(518) 835-8039**.
