Lodge Way, on the western shore of Lake Placid (the lake, not the village). This is the timber-and-stone Great Camp-style lodge that anchors the Relais & Chateaux footprint in the Adirondacks; the other is The Point on Upper Saranac. Both run at the top of the regional lodging market, and both earn it.

Thirty accommodations, all different. Main-lodge rooms and suites with private terraces are the working core. Free-standing cabins and private lakeside cottages handle guests who want isolation rather than hallway proximity. Stone fireplaces, carved-timber beds, and direct mountain or lake views are the consistent thread. The Arts and Crafts log-and-stone vocabulary is real rather than themed.

Dining splits between Artisans, the main farm-to-table room (signature: maple lavender duck breast), and Maggie's Pub, the casual room. The wine cellar is the deeper than most regional lists. Whiteface and the Olympic venues are a short drive; hiking and paddling launch directly from the lakefront. Year-round, with shoulder seasons (May and late October) as the value windows. Best for couples and small parties on a milestone trip; not a children's lodging.
