Rooms are clean and basic. The on-site restaurant is the actual differentiator on this stretch of road, where dining options thin out fast outside the village center. That makes it a workable base for a one-night stop on a longer trip, particularly for travelers heading to or from the Lake Champlain ferries at Essex.

Close access to the High Peaks (Keene and the Cascade trailhead are about 20 minutes), Lake Placid (35 minutes), and Lake Champlain (15 minutes to Westport). Best for cross-Adirondack road trippers who want a cheaper night than Lake Placid and don't need amenities. Year-round.
