§ The Story

What you’re stepping into .

Six rooms and a marina on the Great Sacandaga.

Bridge Street in Northville, where the Great Sacandaga starts its long pull south toward Northampton. The inn fronts the lake directly and runs its own marina, which is the difference between an inn near the water and an inn on the water. Boaters can tie up; landlubbers can sit on the porch and watch them.

Six guest rooms, each different, kept deliberately quiet in decor. The full-property buyout is the move for a family reunion or a small wedding party that wants the whole place to themselves; the lakefront setup makes it an obvious ceremony venue.

The Great Sacandaga is the southern Adirondacks' big-water option, calmer crowds than Lake George, better fishing than its reputation suggests, and an easier drive from Albany than anywhere up north. The inn is the rare lakefront lodging at this end of the lake.
