About Adirondack Rail Trail Lake Placid Parking.

The Adirondack Rail Trail is a 34-mile multipurpose path that begins in Lake Placid and extends to Tupper Lake. Designed for users of all ages and abilities, the trail provides year-round opportunities for healthy exercise, enjoying nature, and experiencing Adirondack history. Managed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), the trail benefits from the partnership of the Adirondack Rail Trail Association (ARTA) for maintenance and amenities. It traverses vibrant sections of Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, and Tupper Lake, connecting these communities. The trail's Phase 3, connecting Floodwood Road to Tupper Lake, is now open to the public. Visitors can use the official website to explore a trail map and locate specific parking areas, including those in Lake Placid, to plan their trip effectively.
