This easy 1.7-mile loop trail offers a pleasant and relaxing walk through the woods near Crown Point, New York. Hikers can enjoy climbing gentle hills above a brook and strolling along the scenic east shore of Penfield Pond. The route typically takes around 38 minutes to complete and is suitable for those seeking a tranquil outdoor experience rather than an intense workout.
The trail connects to the Old Ironville Road Trail, providing options for extended exploration. Access to the trailhead is conveniently located on Peasley Road, approximately 0.2 miles east of the Penfield Museum. Visitors should park on the right before the bridge, then cross the bridge and take an immediate right turn to begin the trail. This trail is also designated as P2 on the Central Champlain Valley CATS map.
