Moreau Lake

Moreau Lake anchors Moreau Lake State Park — 91 acres of warm-water swimming and motorized boating just outside the southern boundary of the Adirondack Park, where Route 9 crosses from Saratoga County into the southern Adirondacks. The park runs a sandy beach with lifeguards in season, a boat launch, and a network of hiking trails through the surrounding state forest — closer to Capital Region day-use than backcountry stillwater, but a reliable shoulder-season option when the High Peaks corridor is still snowbound or the Lake George villages are fully booked. The lake sits low enough and warm enough to open by Memorial Day; expect bass, panfish, and pickerel if the species survey ever gets filed.
