About Mt. Van Hoevenberg Cross Country & Biathlon Center.
This significant Lake Placid Legacy Site is recognized for its role in hosting the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games. Today, it serves as a year-round recreational center offering a diverse array of activities and sporting events for visitors.
During the colder months, the center is a hub for winter sports, providing extensive trails for cross-country skiing and opportunities for biathlon, luge, and skeleton experiences. It also hosts various national and international winter sports competitions, continuing its Olympic heritage.
As seasons transition, the venue transforms to offer warm-weather adventures. Guests can explore miles of trails for cross-country biking and hiking, ride the thrilling Cliffside Coaster, or engage in climbing activities. Lessons are available for many of these sports, catering to different skill levels and encouraging participation.
