About Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort.
Located 13 miles from Lake Placid, Whiteface Mountain is a prominent destination for winter sports. It features 90 trails and 11 lifts, with a 3,430-foot vertical drop, recognized as the greatest on the East Coast. The mountain offers diverse terrain suitable for all skill levels, from dedicated beginner areas to challenging expert runs like The Slides.
The resort provides a full range of services, including group, private, and adaptive lessons, alongside season-long programs for skiers and snowboarders. Equipment rentals, tuning and repair services, and various on-mountain dining options are available. Additional winter activities include a terrain park and an uphill program.
In summer, Whiteface offers a different array of activities. Guests can take scenic rides on the Cloudsplitter Gondola, drive the Veterans’ Memorial Highway, or enjoy disc golf, hiking, and yoga. The mountain also serves as a venue for annual events such as races and Oktoberfest, attracting visitors throughout the year.
