§ Field Notes
About George Henry's.
Main Street, Warrensburg, on the corridor between Lake George and the Schroon Lake exit. The kitchen runs a deliberate slow-food posture in a town that mostly does diner-and-pizza: plates made to order, no fryer-only menu, and a small staff that means a busy Saturday will not be a fast turnaround.
The menu reads American grill with a few signatures. The Philly Smash Stack, Smokehouse Nachos, and the steak and chicken plates run the regular rotation. Bread and dessert come in from local bakeries, produce from Brickman's, beef and poultry from Oscar's Smoke House (the Warrensburg institution) and Jacobs and Toney's Meat Store of the North. The sourcing is the kitchen's actual editorial position.
Family-friendly room. Local craft beer on tap. Year-round. Best for travelers passing through Warrensburg who want a real sit-down meal rather than the chain options at the Lake George exit, and for locals on a Tuesday night.
