Founded in May 1958 by Barbara Jennings, Custard's Last Stand has been a beloved fixture in Long Lake, offering a wide selection of frozen treats to both locals and visitors. The stand features classic soft and hard ice creams, including a 10% butter fat soft serve, alongside a rotating menu of Dole Whip fruit flavors like Mango, Cherry, and Pineapple. Beyond traditional cones, guests can enjoy specialty beverages such as milkshakes (available in many varieties including malted and coffee shakes), floats with Birch Beer or Root Beer, and unique Harlequin Ice Cream Sodas. The menu also includes creative sundaes, served either as "Just a Sundae" or in a "Guide boat" style. The establishment is actively developing its own hard serve custard options to complement its existing Hershey Ice Cream offerings.
