This wilderness area spans 37,616 acres and is a significant part of the larger Adirondack Forest Preserve. McKenzie Mountain itself is central to the area, giving the wilderness its name and forming its prominent natural feature. Visitors can enjoy some of the most exceptional mountain views found anywhere in the northern Adirondacks.
